Classes

Our class schedule for Winter and Spring are posted here.  Our instructors are Carol Walther, who will teach beginning knit and crochet, Molly Kaufman, who will teach the more advanced classes, and Elahe Hejazi, who will be doing a class for a sampler afghan.  

Carol Walther will be teaching the beginning knit classes.  The classes are held for two consecutive weeks from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. and are $45 for both.   Pre-registration and payment are required in advance.                    

Beginning Knitting

Learn to knit, purl, cast on and bind-off.

Note:  Only right handed crocheters for these classes.  Left handed crocheters can contact Molly at the Knitting Room at 264-7229.

$45 per person - pre-registration and payment required in advance. Classes are two 2-hour sessions.

Reversible Scarves

Tuesday, January 17, 6:00 to 8:00 PM

For new and intermediate knitters.  Choose from a variety of beautiful reversible scarves that are easy to knit and look great.  Patterns provided for all.  $25 payable in advance to the instructor.

Double Knitting

Three Thursdays, January 19 and 26, February 2, 6:00 to 8:00 PM

Double knitting is a technique that results in two layers of fabric and two right sides, both executed at the same time.  Make hatw, scarves, cowls, blankets and more.  See samples in shop after January 1.  $60 payable in advance to the instructor.

Socks

Three Tuesdays, January 24 and 31, February 7, 6:00 to 8:00 PM

Make your first pair of socka and you will never turn back.  $60, payable in advance to the instructor.

Top Down Hats

Tuesday, February 21, 6:00 to 8:00 PM

For beginning and intermediate knitters.  Make a sleek and attractive top-down hat.  You will love the spiral at the top.  Perfect for leftover ball of yarn.  Special techniques for school and team colors.  $25, payable in advance to the instructor.

Tips and Tricks to Make your Knitting Easier

Two Thursdays, February 16 and 23, 6:00 to 8:00 PM

A class for intermediate and advanced knitters.  You will learn lots of hints to make your knitting easier and more professional looking.  Includes many tips you don't see in books.  You must have completed a number of projects including scarves, hats blandets, and baby wear.  $45, payable in advance to the instructor.

A Sampler Afghan

This is a class with a knit-along feel to it for experienced knitters interested in a group project.  Join me in making this heirloom afghan to remain in your family for many years to come.  You can make this afghan as large or as small as you want.

In this class you will learn how to make the afghan squares, how to attach the squares and finish the afghan. 

Class meets 5 Thursdays, January 19 to February 23, 6:00 to 8:00 PM

Cost:  $45, payable in advance to the instructor by cash or check.

Materials

     1  Medium weight yarn (approximately 3/4 to 1 skein per square, although you do not need to purchase all of the yarn at one time).

     2  Sampler Afghans book by Leisure Arts.

     3  Circular or straight needles according to the yarn recommendation.

     4  Tool kit (tape measure, crochet hook, markers, safety pins, pencil and paper, etc.).
